
Marie Gillain was born in 1975 in Belgium and made her acting debut as Gerard Depardieu's daughter in Mon pere ce heros in 1991 for which she received a Cesar nomination for best female newcomer. Other awards followed including the Prix Romy Schneider for her performance in Bertrand Tavernier's 1991 production L'Appat. As well as film work Gillain has performed on the stage and in productions for television.
