Anahi short bio

Anahi Giovanna Puente Portilla (born May 14, 1983 Mexico City) is a Mexican actress. She is also the sister of actress Marichelo. Anahi started her acting career at the age of two years old in the show Chiquilladas. She then participated in many other TV shows and took advantage of that to become a telenovela star. Her debut telenovela was Madres egoistas and later appeared in 12 others. Anahi has had a very successful career wining several awards including Ariel, Palm d'Or, Bravo and many others. In the early 90's Anahi wanted to charm people not only on screen but in the music industry. She recorded a CD with and independent label for children's music. That did not give her much recognition as a singer. In 1996 Anahi recorded her first Latin-Pop album that was well received by teenagers all over Mexico. Her first CD was Hoy Es Manana which includes hits such as Descontrolandote, Corazon de Bombon, and Por Volverte A Ver. Her second CD Anclado en mi Corazon was released a year later and produced singles such as Anclado en mi Corazon, Salsa Reggae, and Brazos en Cruz. In 2000 Anahi moved to a different record label (Fonovisa) and released Baby Blue. Baby Blue has been Anahi's best-selling album and even got her nominations for the Latin Billboard Awards. Now Anahi joined a band called RBD, her new band has been doing great. Selling more than 500,000 copies in just Mexico, RBD is known as our generations Timbiriche.
